From 7th to 8th July 2022, Cali’s 2nd Creative and Cultural Economy International Meeting will take place. This annual event aims to provide a space to reflect on the economic dimension of culture, as a key on the sector projection and sustainability. The meeting is organized by Cali Mayor’s Office, the Colombian Ministry of Culture, Fundación BiblioTEC, and Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, among other organizations that are part of the city’s Creative Economy Committee, an inter-institutional governance body.

During these days we will address topics such as the development of national and international Observatories of Creative Economy, the vision of culture and its role in human development, Culture as the fourth axis of sustainability, the impact of the Creative Economy in Latin America and some aspects related to culture markets and circulation. The event will allow citizens to connect and discuss regional Creative Economy approaches with academics, policymakers, cultural managers and other business directors, and experts from Spain, Mexico, Brasil, Argentina, Equator, Chile, Uruguay, and Colombia.

We will also have the pleasure of welcoming words from Ms. Denise Bax, director of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network – UCCN, whom we thank in advance.
