Open Call: BBBank Projection Mapping Award 2023 in Karlsruhe

Every year in August, the over 170 meters long façade of the Karlsruhe baroque Palace becomes a gigantic stage for media art and the forecourt becomes an urban happening space in the UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts. The SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Karlsruhe Light Festival is curated by the artistic and scientific director of the ZKM, Peter Weibel.

This competition is being held for the third time and is open to artists of all ages from all over the world. The grand prize is 10,000 Euros plus a grant for producing the artwork, which will be included in the main program of the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Light Festival in 2023. The prizes for the second and third place winners is 5,000 Euros and 2,000 Euros, respectively. With regard to content, ideas submitted must address at least one of the following themes: possible perspectives for the future, digitization, and hopeful scenarios of social cohesion.
