Since 2015, the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Light Festival Karlsruhe has inspired artists to explore new and innovative ways to inspire the audience. Starting in 2024, these creative and innovative visions will be given the dm Award “connecting worlds”, which honours a project that connects the digital space of projection mappings with the analogue space in front of the Karlsruhe Palace.
The international call for entries is open to all artists or artist groups of any background or previous experience. The prize is endowed with 10,000€ and the winning project will be subsidised with up to 20,000€ for the production. Only one winner will be chosen.
We are looking for innovative projects that deal with the connection of the digital space of the projection mappings with the analogue space in front of the castle. The projects submitted must take place outdoors, be publicly accessible and can, but do not have to, be shown for the entire duration of the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Light Festival 2024. Conceivable projects could be, for instance, the installation of a media artwork that refers to the castle, a complementary staging of the square in front of the castle, other art forms such as concerts or performances, interactive projects with audience participation, the integration of new technical possibilities or the creation of a new spatial experience.
Entries can be submitted until 15 December 2023, 12:00 CET. Further information as well as the complete call for entries including the conditions of participation are available under Open Call dm Award „connecting worlds“ 2024 – Karlsruhe UNESCO city of media arts
