Imaginary cartography between Enghien-les-Bains and Braga

Imaginary cartography between Enghien-les-Bains and Braga is a project realized as part of the larger program of France Portugal 2022 Season, organized by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in close collaboration with the Portuguese Government, recalling the rotating Presidency of the European Union exercised by Portugal in the first half of 2021 and that of France in the first half of 2022

The project invites about thirty pupils from high schools from Braga and Enghien-les-Bains to seize the potential offered by media arts, in the company of two French and Portuguese artists. Pupils imagine a territory common to the two cities, beyond the differences of language and culture, through the making of a short film. This project is based on online workshops in March and April 2022 and face-to-face workshops in May of the same year.

Thanks to this project, the cities of Braga and Enghien-les-Bains aim to make the young people:
– understand the creative process and digital tools as ways of relating to others, to their area of ​​life, and to other areas on a European scale,
– rediscover through film making their living area and their heritage from a different perspective, by reinventing their city, imagining new spaces, and creating virtual bridges between Braga and Enghien-les-Bains,
– contribute to the cultural and artistic development of the territories concerned by making the project part of a local, participatory and intercultural dynamic.
