Cali x Karlsruhe 2023 exchange program

For the first time, the two UNESCO Cities of Media Arts Karlsruhe and Cali announce an international exchange program. Two media artists from the two cities will be supported for a 17-day stay in Karlsruhe and Cali. The goal is to conceive and produce a media artwork in joint international collaboration.

Karlsruhe will host the first conceptual phase in August, while the second will take place in Cali in October/November. The final co-produced work will be presented in November in the gardens of Museo La Tertulia during the annual Media Arts Cluster Meeting. In 2024, the final work will also be presented in the urban space of Karlsruhe and at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media.

The call for proposals in Cali ran until May 22, 2023, and the chosen candidate was LUCÍA DIEGÓ (they/them). LUCÍA works in the field of film and textile art with a focus on artistic interventions in public spaces. Click here for LUCÍA’s portfolio.
